I Am A Slacker

Saturday, June 30, 2007

I am sorry I haven't been posting anything lately but I feel really boring when I don't post pictures and stuff with my writing. I am so mad at myself because I totaly forgot my downloading cord and my battery charger for my camera so I can't really do anything with my camera right now because the battery is dead and the disc is almost full. I am getting someone to send it to Mom and Dad in Salt Lake so I won't be a slacker forever.

Weeww! It is Hot

Sunday, June 10, 2007

This Saturday I had my soccer tournament. I prepared myself by filling a cooler full of ice and water bottles. Then I got my uniform and drove 30 minutes to the field where we were playing. We played a team form Reston which were wearing blue. We were wearing yellow. I started out in defence and then moved up into offence as the game went on. After playing a little while in offense I had almost scored 3 goals but the final score was 3-0 with us having 0 goals and the other team having 3 goals. My face was bright read and I felt really dehydrated and sick (it was 90 degrees outside so who wouldn't). I was disappointed that we lost because this game decided if we were in second place or not. Obviously not. This is not the end of the season this year for me. Although I have been asked almost every year to be on All Stars, I could never do it because one of the games is on Sunday. This year my coach told me that I could be on All Stars and could just play on Saturday if I like. This made me so happy because this is the first time I will be in All Stars. I have 2 practices this week and then our tournament games. I am so excited.

Girl Scout Good-Bye

Saturday, June 9, 2007

This Friday I had the last day of Girl Scouts party. It is crazy to think I have been doing Girl Scouts for 7 years now, and now it is all over. I decided I was going to stop in Middle School. We had a sleep over and it was so much fun. We started out by going to an indoor pool since we had a thunderstorm here in Virginia. The pool was one of the funnest I have ever been to. It had 2 water slides, one open that stayed inside, and one that was a tunnel that twirled outside and then came back in. At first I was kinda scared because I haven't really been on a water slide before, and then when I went on it, I wanted to go 10 more times. There was also a lazy river that I went through many times and a whirl pool that made you go around in circles.

After washing our hair in the showers, we headed to one of my leaders' homes. On the way there we experienced some light rain and lighting. I am still a kid, so it is ok that I am scared of lighting :-). When we got to the house we changed into our pjs and started playing in my leader's basement. Her daughter is in the troup so it is all stuff for kids and adults. Their basement was AMAZING! When you first walk down the stairs you walk to you left and there is a dart board and a map of the US under it. You can aim for the board or a paticular state. Then you turn the corner and there is a pool table with a fun pool stick holder. Next to it there is a really cool pin ball machine. It was like an arcade, they had 2 pin ball machines, a pac man machine, and a juke box. They also had a bar place with high stools and fun decorations. Then the TV room had big, fluffy couches and a big screen TV on the wall. To the side of the TV, painted on the wall, are football player "passing" a football over the TV.

After getting familiar with her basement which was the place we were sleeping, we came upstairs for some s'mores. Since it was stormy outside, we made it over a candle sort of thing that was ment for marshmellows. Then we moved back down stairs for a movie. We watched Get A Clue. This movie is based on the book the Westing Game and it is a mystery. Although it was a great movie, I have to admit, I started falling asleep during it. After a long night of fun, we finally went to bed at about 2am.

I woke up the next morning at 7am and was very tired from our fun, late night. We had to get up thought because the leaders were going to take us out to IHOP for breakfast. We drove there and I had a yummy breakfast of pancakes, bacon, and eggs. After the wonderful meal, we drove back the our leader's house and waited for our parents. I was a fun sleepover but also sad because it is the last thing I will do in Girl Scouts.

BALLOON FIGHT!!!

Wednesday, June 6, 2007

On Monday at school we did a very fun thing. Since all year we have been studying American and most recently we have been studying the Civil War. All the moms got together and filled up 600 water balloons so we could have our "Balloon Battle" I was a Confederate and each day we got 6 points. We were also split into regiments and averaged out our point every week. At the end, each point counted as a balloon. I got soaked being one of the 2 survivors in the war. We couldn't get hit or we died. I got splashed a lot and afterwards we had some extra balloons. I got pounded in the chest with one and was dripping wet. It was a lot of fun. I love getting wet....expecially when you don't normally have a balloon fight at school!!

Things to be Thankful For

Sunday, June 3, 2007

Lately I have been feeling a little bit stressed about school because we just finished the SOLs and our teacher assigned us a new project with only about 2 more weeks left. I am trying to be optimistic telling myself, "Only 10 more days".It is pretty hard to be happy with school and teachers after a long year. I am thankful that it is warming up and there are no more freezing days. I am thankful for the moisture today. I am thankful for my wonderful family and parents. I am thankful for everything I have. This is just a "side note" but I am thankful that I got to see my mystery boy on Friday night again. It makes me happy. I am so silly and obsesive. I am also thankful for this blog so I can tell you all about the little things in my life and I will try to add more stuff more often.

Sick:-(

Friday, June 1, 2007

This week I caught the stomach flu. It was not fun. I sat there with my hurting tummy and watched disney movies. I didn't like that day. The good thing was I got to miss school. The onther good thing is that I didn't have to turn everything in exactly on time since I was sick. Mariah gave it to me because she went to a party and caught it. We all just thought it was food poisening but then I caught it. Obviously not. It was good because it also only lasted 12 hours.
